OK, I passed the site of my worst death wobble today and gave it a good test. I pronounce my truck as officially fixed. If anyone wants to do a real test, NJ Turnpike, south bound, around mile marker 44 (between exits 5 and 4) there is a bridge over Rancocas Creek with several diagonal expension joints and the roadway is bellyed between joints. I hit it at 70 mph and it was under control at all times.
I never posted them. I have no access to them. The Ford dealer won't let me see them and was reluctant to even tell me what was done.
I know that the second one involves shimming the front end so that the new alignment specs can be met. There were also (according to the dealer) five pages of things to check and/or adjust. They stressed that to keep the maximum pressure in the tires (75 psi.) and not to run them lower.
The first one checked five different things, as I recall, and they had replaced my steering dampener. I hope this helps.
Today the dealer told me that probably any TSB about this subject is internet BS, i laughed and asked him to check anyway. His return call told me they will replace the steering dampner......he also won't say the TSB number other than he only found one but will need the truck for another day or 2. I suspect his tail is between his legs a bit for the TSB comment.

Thats great lg3rd! but watch those front tires like a hawk for wear any odd wear get right back in to them. From what my connections have told me they played with the alignment specs also.
Can you list all your suspension options you have on your truck?
snow plow pkg. heavey suspension,Etc.........
Thanks
Rich its getting close for me to order.

Yes, I saw your other post. Congratulations and condolences.
I'll dig out that info for you. I have the window sticker and I guess that you want data plate info, too? Anything else?
A friend of mine (now 49) had his hip replacement (from a childhood sledding accident) about two years ago. He is very happy with it and wishes he had done it sooner.
My 05 F250 back from the shop. 2 TSB's applied and the wobble is gone and even a much better front end & steering and comes out of corners better too. Although i couldn't get the TSB #'s i was told the main problem is the front end castor which gets changed slightly forward. Inconjunction the shims (dealer used a different term other than shims) were used, and alignment specs were changed as well. SO the key is the castor, my truck is a gaser and has the plow pkg. Based on your engine and front end options the TSB may or may not apply.
does anyone have the tsb numbers for this yet?? I just had my third experience with this, seems like its coming now that there are more miles on it. First two were very light shakes in wheel but obvious issue. This one was where they were doing construction in the road and had pavement ripped up for few hundred feet. It started jerking bad and got worse when i tried to speed up and got really bad when i tried to slow. I was going approx. 30MPH when it started and was almost stopped 10-15 before it stopped. I will call the dealer but mine is lifted and dont know if they will do it if I dont go in prepared.
The TSB is 05-22-1. This is the one they ref when they aligned my FE for the wobble. So far it is better.
Steering Wheel Shimmy After Riding Over Bumps/Ruts:
Some 05 and 06 F-Series trucks may exhibit an oscillation/shimmy in the steering wheel after hitting bumps or ruts in the road. Typical steering wheel movement is 5 degrees and usually smooths out after about 5 oscillations. This condition is more prevalent on 4X4 trucks with steering wheels that have radio and climate controls. The truck will need to be inspected: tire pressure checked; steering damper inspected; all suspension and steering fasteners torqued; steering checked for binding; steering gear adjustment checked/adjusted. The caster may need to be reduced by 0.5-0.75 degrees. After this, trucks build prior to 10-8-04 should have the steering wheel replaced.

TSB 05 22-1
Took mine in and the tech told me that my aftermarket wheels and tires are the problem?? He told me that they would not do the TSB or even align my truck until I put my OEM wheels and tires back on.
i just spoke with my dealer about it and he printed me an oasis and tsb proceedure for this. He aslo ordered a steering wheel for it just because the build date showed to. Truck doesnt even have appointment to be taken in yet. Mine is lifted and they wont align it but gave me the TSB and proceedure to take to my alignment guy. Then it will go to dealer to have dampner and gear box adjusted. Ill keep you updated. Truck goes in wednesday to be aligned to the castor specs.
