Here is the latest pics once I got it cleared off. I still can't see all the damage but it isn't good.
So far:
Antenna is bent
The roof has a flat spot
the hood is dented in many places
The wiper blades are bent
The wiper cowl is lifted up
the speed grills are all bend.
The fenders, doors and back have severe scratches on them.
The tailgate has a dent or two. I can't tell very well because of the ice
The bumper cover and grill surround have scratches.
Drivers side mirror broken off
This isn't the best pic but this is all the limbs I took off the truck:
I can only imagine how I would feel if that was my truck. Although, I'm sure it will look even better when it's fixed. Now you can get the new hood you wanted.
Jon, I bet that about makes ya sick!!
I feel for you.
I had A.F. when I had the fender bender in Colorado. They were not terribly happy to put the truck back to pre accident conditions but the did it anyways. I ended up getting special coverage for the truck afterward to cover the all the mods.
I hope you have as good of luck as I did.
Just talk nice to them and keep your cool, be patient!!!

Nah..I'm being nice for now. The garage, back porch and back part of the roof got damage also. So, I'd better play nice. They said I had to claim the truck on the vehicle insurance and the house on the house insurance. Doesn't sound right to me but my Dad says it's normal. So now that's $500 out of pocket. I'm hoping to find a body shop that will eat the deductible.
I hope I come out as well or even close to what Mark did...but I doubt it. Hell...at this point solid black with no dents and scratches would be great...LOL.
Yes, Here is a few tips.
The aftermarket stuff is generally cheaper than the oem.
Get a list together as to what it costs to replace the aftermarket parts and the oem counter parts. If they give you any problems about the aftermarket parts, show them the difference in costs.
Be patient!!!
They will be more coopertive if you are willing to work with them.
The adjuster is your friend!!!
If you are going to try to slide something by that really was not damaged by the incident, work with the body shop not the adjuster. Usually the body shop will paint/ fix something else for nothing extra. Depending on how major it is.
If you want extra work done, now is the time to get it done. It will be cheaper to get it done now rather than wait down the road to repair/modify it. For example, they were willing to give me a discount on the flames because most of the paint was already prepped for the flames.
Let me know if this helps!

That helps a ton Mark. Thanks. I wouldn't think they'd give me a problem on painting the bumper cover. But the three speed grills might be a tough one. I'm concern about the hood also. But we'll see what happens. AM took care of me when I hit the deer so I would think they'd work with me on this one too.
Any suggestions body shops in Wichita? I used Automasters before and they screwed me royal. I'd like a body shop that does custom work. Those types of places tend to take more pride in their paint jobs. I had also thought about talking to Rusty Eck Ford. They are taking great care of Ken so they may do the same for me.
Remember also, that the oem pieces would offset the cost of repairing your bumper cover.
I would stay away from cervinis hoods. Myself and Tony both agree that they do not fit as well as my first cervinis hood did. Look at Rollies hood, which is my old one, them look at Tonys. The gap along the fender edge is wider. My hood is the same way now.
I thought it was important to share part of what I wrote you in an e-mail, I thought this is valuable info. for anyone else also.
Mark
They did me well. They wrote the cover up as a lightning cover, gave me the replacement on all three grills and the hood was an okay price. Most everything will have to be repainted but I think I can work it to at least get the whole truck repainted black with a couple extras added in....LOL.
Thanks to Shawn I now have a set of Street scene electric mirrors. To bad I don't have the electrical connections in my truck. But SS does make a kit to change manuel to electric.(edit: Actually they don't. I checked around and it is a full mirror manual to electric replacement. So I guess it's off to the junk yard....LOL
I go to OK Sunday to pick up my new hood. All I can as is BAD AZZZZZ. Good things are slowly coming.
