Ford's new 446 cu. in. gas engine for 2020 F250/350 SD
Who will be the first to swap one of these into a dentside? https://www.onallcylinders.com/2020/...in-hotrodding/ A quote from the article: "...the 7.3L Godzilla is only marginally bigger than the 351, and should be a viable option for classic Fords." It will be interesting to see the aftermarket companies come out with components for these engines.
A supercharger on this, with that bottom end, is going to make serious power. If Ford was smart they'd start offering base crate engine packages of Godzilla to get the aftermarket going and take a slice out of the LS swaps. As it is I think we'll have to wait for wrecks.
Hmm! my son works for ford, and he wants to put a 460 in his sc soooo I wonder how this is gonna work out! one problem though they don't make standard trans anymore,he also wants a 5 speed. 6 bolt main WOW! that bottom end ought to last a while!
Well if anyone is following used parts the first couple 7.3 used engines were posted for sale. One had 5300 miles and was offered for 7k the other was a engine trans drop out for 9k. There is already about 30 2020 Superduty trucks listed at insurance auctions. I found the parts through LKQ and Car-part.com.
Ford won't even consider selling them stand-alone until the initial surge from a new model is satisfied. They probably don't want to miss out on potential truck sales due to an engine shortage. Once the supply/ demand of the engines is stable for vehicle production then I bet you will see them offered as crate engines.

Hopefully Advanced Adapters and other aftermarket companies will come up with adapters and swap kits to meet that need. I like manual transmissions, myself (I used to be a truck driver). An adapter for a NV4500 or ZF5 would be awesome.
