New FICM (FICMrepair rebuild), new FICM harness (OEM Ford), same old issues
So I was throwing codes a few weeks ago. Passenger bank wasn't getting power. Remove FICM and send it off to be rebuilt. Install new FICM and same issues. Assume it's the harness at that point and buy a new harness from Ford. Install new harness and now it won't even run! Before it at least idled. No idea where to go from here. Batteries died, but I put the battery from the EX in it and it will turn over (strong) and start to make the rattle like it's going to start and then nothing. FICM is getting 11v (SCT tuner/Edge monitor) but I don't know what else to look for. Thinking it was a fuel issue (really feels like it is) I tried cycling the key and letting it prime for 30 seconds 5-6 times before cranking and nothing. I tried pulling the FICM fuse and using the starter wire on the passenger side on the battery to crank it over to prime it... again nothing. Razzi said it's probably a connector on the FICM not in all the way and I checked them and all are good (plus I heard them snap in) except the front one. I can't for the life of me get it to snap in place! I've tried everything, pushing it in... cramming it in... pushing it in harder... I have no idea what to do. FICMrepair replaced the connectors on the FICM as well, so that's all brand new also.
I had a plug left over after putting it all back together as well. No idea what it goes to. I was thinking the coolant bottle but I don't see a place for it.
The plug looks like the EBP sensor plug.
The FICM plug that you can not hear snap into place, examine all the pins and make sure none are bent. If one pin is bent over it may not snap in or get a connection.
. Also verify the harness ground is on the intake manifold stud and grounded.

I'll go out and check the plug this afternoon. As far as the ground, I'm 100% positive it's connected. I had to remove the other half of the old harness from it before putting this one on
Pete has you covered on the plug.
Is the output of the FICM showing 48v after the repair? Is FICM sync a yes/1?
Have you checked the fuel bowl to see if it's filling?
If the truck has a lot of miles, replace the FICM power relay. It is a 70 amp relay and is different from the normal 30 amp relays. Not sure where it is on your truck but mine is located driver side under the master cylinder on my '04 X.

Bought a brand new one from FICMrepair and just tried it, no go
Ok, so Krazee Matt thought the FICM might have a bent pin causing the first plug to not click into place. I pulled the FICM just a few minutes ago and the pins look perfect. I looked for at least a minute and saw nothing even slightly off.
You need to check both sides of the connector. If the female side is loose, it will slide backward when the male is pushed in. The pins are normally locked in place by a tab, they do slip occasionally.
Did you check FICM output voltage yet? or FICM sync?

You're talking about the FICM side correct?

Is it supposed to be 11v? The SCT and Edge both say 11v.
Yes, check both, on the FICM itself and the harness side plug.
That would be the input, FICM Logic power. Normally same as battery voltage. Make sure to charge batteries and that input doesn't go below 9.5v and shouldn't drop below 10.5v for more than a few seconds.
FICM output should be above 45v at KOEO and stay above 45v. Normal reading is 48v and used to determine its health.
FICM sync is needed to command it to order fuel. You could have all the right stuff, but if it isn't getting the message that everything else is ready, it won't command fuel. To get FICM sync, you need cam and crank sync first. You should be able to see those on a gauge, don't know if the Edge will read it though, I'm not familiar with its capability. Once it receives cam/crank sync, the FICM sync turns to a yes/1 and fuel is commanded.
I'm getting really good at this (sort of). Pulled the FICM in about 5 minutes without taking anything off first (coolant lines/bottle). All the pins look great upon further inspection and I connected it to the old harness to see if there were any issues and there were none. I don't however have another of the front plug I can test it on out of the truck though. I'll toss it back in once morning rolls around and then go from there. I'll let you know how the front connector works out afterwards as well. Here's a video of me trying to crank it the other day:
