I've actually driven my Ex the most in the last 3 days then i have in months. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I forgot how much i missed it!
I put my Grandmas snow tires on her 300C and on my Expedition..otherwise recovering from going out last night. I took the Ex and I could not drive so my friend who has an Escape and never driven anything bigger then that drove my Ex...she was like omg this thing is HUGE.
Installed a new water pump yesterday. Also finally completed the install of the coolant filter. The worst part of the job was getting the beast started after sitting for a week. I had a battery charger on one and jumping the other battery with the cop car. Took about an hour but finally got it running. Does anyone actually know what the battery drain is? Anyway, pumping water, fresh coolant and a filter. Next I get to choose a new air filter.
^ typically things with memory drain batteries. Like: stereos, digital clusters and more.
Do you have a maintainer for the batteries?
Well, it was drained once before from sitting, so Im not going to blame the gauges I installed as it was after. Other than that, all the electronics are stock. I do have a Banks tuner and the sport tune installed but again, it happened befroe that too. I know the PCM has a keep alive memory but you would think it would take several months for that low draw to kill 2 large batteries.
Not sure. What are the dates on the batteries? Maybe get them load tested to see there capacity. My truck sits a week and is fine it also has a new motorcraft alternator and motorcraft battery from last year though.

I'll have to look at the batteries. I know one of them was a lot lower in charge than the other. My alternator is less than a year old and its a big 160 amp monster. I guess I should check my cables and have the batteries tested like you said. It only sat for 5 days and its not even cold yet. Unacceptable!

That's where I'd start. Mine has sat for weeks and months at a time and fired up without any help.
Well not today, but Saturday the X got all new rotors and brake pads. I went with the Powerstop Extreme one-click brake kit for both axles. Fit was perfect and they seem to be good quality. I was impressed with them while trailering a large load this weekend. Got them while they still have their rebate going. Unfortunetly, all my picture didn't turn out so I have nothing to really share. However I know a few people were looking at these kits and I wanted to share my experience.
It's not all that easy for stuff to get from the hub back through the spindle into the axle tube, to the diff. The metal pieces would be forced to the outside edge of the the hub when driven, than settle into the bottom when stopped.
I haven't pulled the diff cover yet to do a fluid flush yet, But the way it's sealed there, Very very unlikely anything made it to the diff. But there were a bunch of little shavings trapped in the center section of the hub between the inner and outter race/cups. There's like a little valley that traps some of the gear oil for lubrication, and thats were I found the little bits.
Man that makes me feel better.....you know what they say about actually answering yourself in a conversation...whew
Ok, that right there is some funny chit. Skip gets all "Creepy Rob Lowe" on Christina and she doesn't bat an eye, just continues on with the madness. LOL
Nothing to do with the truck really, but flying around the country today on my way to AAPEX/SEMA. Sitting at a bar in SFO for the next couple of hours.

Ahh entertaining myself a bit at Skips expense because he tee'd it up so nicely. He's not really creepy at all....
