No, My dealer and tech. told me that is for Emission's. so a smog shop can interface with the truck. But the MPG wen't up from 10 to13 MPG And the exhaust fumes at Idle arn't near as bad as thy were so it must have changed somthing.

cdtruckn the recall has a direct conection to the injectors in that they are deactivating pilot injection. And this is their way to legally have you concent to do so. Fords quike fix for bad injectors! Or at least a way to get them (injectors) to last through our warranty period. After that your on your own. Recall all c94 injectors!!!

CD is there any correlation with the Oct flash and THEN you had problems with the 94's
i.e. you had no problem with the 94's and then re-flash then 300 later you had a problem......hum

My pilot injection was disabled in Oct. flash also but this would appear to be Fords way to get all of us to de-pilot our engines in a legall way by having us bring in our trucks and asking them to do the work. How can you fight them for to have pilot injection when you have brought them the truck under the recall notion and had them disable it? Because up to this point they were flashing a lot of trucks without owner concent inwhich this could be a legall mess.

Tim:

You got me think'n, so went out to check the oil level, gust what, I'ts over full, the level is gust at the wire part of the dipstick so it's going in tomorrow to check the rest of the injectors. And if that is the problem I will have the last 3 of them replaced.

Bummer..........but great if you get the last three replaced.........if you do then go back in to my thread and log your data about this problem

Hay CD you are all over this forum I need to recruit you to help me get 6.0 folks to go and fill out their data. Read through the pages and you can see how I get them over to it.
You know the importance of this information. In addition, MLF250 did a real simple format, so I use that as the template. It is to difficult for me to try and hit every guy that owns a 6.0, (and the new ones are not surfing as much as I wished) and without 200/300 or more the data will not be able to stand up to Ford. We have to have a large sampling of problems, to build a legitimate matrix/spreadsheet.

Thanks bud
Tim

Can anyone tell me what the ablity of using a generic diagnastic tool has to do with the ability of my truck to have pilot injection is?? It would seem Ford is baseing this recall and elimination of pilot injection on that in my paper work(recall notice).

Right now ford is fixing all the problems, As for the MPG thy never advertised the fuel mileage of the 6.0, so we don't have much recourse. I complained to consumer affairs about my truck and the very next day got a call from fords area rep about it and got a extended warranty out of the deal. but like thy said If you have a problem bring it in and we will fix it. I will file another if thy can't fix the pilot injection. I will know more tomorrow and post back.
