depends on what you do with your truck. Mine hauls about 5k-6k on average. I installed a dual core alum. My truck never sees above 205 ever. I cant push it hard enough. It runs at 185-190 and rarely moves when not hauling. Dont be too freaked by the alum ones. They work well.

You will pick a new rad up for at least $300 depending on where you go at least here in my state. The hard part of it is putting down the cash for it. :P Install is easy enough.

you can always look for someone on craigslist.org parting out a truck like yours. hell, i got a complete 87 4spd 4x4 x cab that was just dirty and had been parked for about 5 years. i paid $400 for it.

i think these things are so big that it just doesn't make much difference by the sounds of all the diff rad's used by others.

$283.22 Shipped

Amazon.com: Proliance Ready-Rad 432194 New Radiator: Automotive

I actually bought one and it shipped to the wrong address so that got returned and a new one was sent to the correct address. It says none available right now but I know for a fact they just received the one I returned.

sounds like its never been flushed and is clogged and or the passages in the block are too.
if your not leaking,you may want to have a shop perform a reverse power flush.buying a radiator in your case could be throwing $ away fyi.
a new IH thermostat at the same time would be a good idea too.also dont forget about sca's of course.

Sounds like the one I am using, Ready-Rad, part number 432194...I think. Mine is working perfectly.

Dont bother trying to clean you original radiator, it can be boiled which may help a bit, but it can't be rodded out due to dimples in the core tubes.

buy the brass/copper ready rad 432194 radiator for $246.39 online at advance auto.
(verify your truck uses this size rad first though of course.)

its posted online for 305 and change (at time of this post) then you could go to shopping cart and enter "VISA" for $50 off.BUT there's a better coupon for this,for 20% off which equals a little over $60 off.so enter "P20" instead to see your total under 250 bucks for the brass and copper rad.
here you will see its lifetime warrantied as well.you'll never need to buy a second one.
have it shipped free or pick it up in the store.

don't forget to scrap your old rad!!! this should help reduce your final cost down around 200 bucks.

yup.mines seen better days.had her patched up,but shes getting weak all over.well it wasn't made just last year after all,so i guess its due.

out of a little curiosity.i did look a bit,but didn't find one online.
does anyone happen to know (doesn't matter much,im sure i wouldn't like the price anyway) if anyone does still in fact make a stock 4 row/identical brass/copper replacement?
maybe they just found that 3 larger rows do in fact cool better or just so dang close to the same that is doesn't matter than 4 smaller rows.i dunno,probably not.most likely due to cost.im sure not worried about it.just curious if anyone ever found an identical replacement is all.

update;
been using this rad problem free shortly after i made this post.
it's now 7/10/2011
if anything it works better than my old 4 row.likely just because its newer and cleaner.so i guess they know what their doing,even if it is cheaper for 'em to make.sure couldn't tell my engine its not just as good as stock.then again,who's too say what a brand new 4 row would be like either.like mentioned above though,i don't think i'll be loosing any sleep over it due to the price difference of whatever a 4 row would cost,even if someone did make it lol.

update two;
few more days until 2012.
this radiator is just as overkill as the stock rad.
e-fans hardly need to turn on,never in the winter unless my grill cover or plow are on.
she's keeping temps down with ease.it's a chore like the stocker to keep temps up in winter.
she's a good one.

update.10/25/2013.radiator failure!
she started leaking and got worse and worse.started as a slow drip and then once i saw it started leaving a puddle and almost a steady stream i took it out.went downhill inside a week.
so being lifetime warrantied,i go back to just get another......hold the phone.the replacement was a plastic tank and aluminum 2 row core! i don[t think so.
so i just took it to a local rad shop and had it fixed.upper seam failure he said.he went on to tell me about % of lead used in solder and what not,and how it may not have been made with best % of solder at the joints and that it should be better now.
set me back $100 but that plastic/2 row replacement i didn't want any part of.
so sad nothing can remain half way quality anymore.all china crap!plastic has no place on a radiator.looks like the days of finding a copper and brass rad are dwindling more and more.if you go to advanceauto.com now,you'll see it listed as a "toughone" or "ready rad" i guess what they had in then was the toughone.
