Just have to throw Clyde into this. True, it is an '84, but with a build date of 10/83 it turned 25 last month.

The body and paint are all original above the lower chrome trim. Purchased in '96 with 38,000 miles from a retired farmer who only used it to pull a horse trailer. Heavily oxidized but straight with a little rust-thru in the usual areas the bad spots were touched up in '04, cutting out the rust and using patch panels and panel adhesive to make the repairs. As yet not a bubble to be seen!

Built in October of 1983 Clyde is a very early '84 model. An F250HD 8600 GVW with the trailer tow/camper special package of this era is equivalent to a SRW F350 8700 GVW. Sticker in the lower corner of the windshield states that Clyde was built at the St. Paul, MN Ford Plant, about 25 miles from my home. Not a daily driver but when hauling or towing is the mission Clyde is there. Had two cubic yards of 3/4" washed river rock in the back one time! Handled it very nicely.

A street rod would be fun, I just love the COE's I've been seeing and really wish I could justify owning something in the medium duty range or even a C-model tilt cab (got a real love affair going with those trucks) but I find Clyde is a great compromise. It truly earns it's keep pulling our 10,000# fifthwheel and if gas stays down it may put on a couple thousand more miles to CO and back this coming summer.
