it has been very popular on this site and to alot of people i know with 6.0s worrying about the reprogramming of the pcm. well more than likely i will repeat some stuff but i do have a little something new. now stay with me.

first off, this is only on 03 and early build 04 trucks. this reprogram takes the ebp sensor out of the loop, only to bring up the maf, map and other sensors that these trucks did not really depend on untill now. for some of you who have got this done and are complaining about fuel milage, no power, etc...well here is the new stuff. some tuners out there create a kam code (p0603) with the modifications that it does to the strategy. well this is the bad thing. the revised strategy for the 03-04 trucks includes a major pid VGT_LRN. this pid has to say yes for the truck to perform properly. if you have a tuner that creates a p0603 code then this pid will never say yes because kam is always being reset by the tuner. therefore the trucks are never seeing a full boost condition. if you have one of these tuners contact the manufacturer and see if there is an update from them. otherwise you may have to get rid of the tuner to see power again.

as for the people out there that are running stock trucks (all five of you lol) go to a GOOD dealer if you have a lack of power concern and get it fixed. the deductible will pay for itself by your happiness.

as for the 05e15 recall it has a completely different strategy which as stated before shuts off egr and tweaks a few things. once again it should not have hurt your power, and if it did take it to a GOOD dealer for them to correct the issue.
