OK, now that the chit chat is done, I will attempt to bring you up to date on a few things.
To recap how this works (I hope), the entire front clip is a separate structural element from the rest of the truck.
When unlocked it will be motored forward 10 inches by a linear actuator.
Then another actuator will rotate it upward to approximately 80 degrees and hold it there.
This is the town car trunk release mounted on the inside of the hood support hoop.
And the motor drive is mounted through the firewall which will pull the hood tightly closed.
Here are the fender support rods I made from 7/16 bar stock. I welded grade 8 all thread to the top so I could adjust things just right.
The bottom of the fender rods were heated and flattened so I could mount them to the lower fender skirt.
That's where I am right now, I still need to make the nylon guides and install the roller guides but I have been busy with the float house so it is what it is.
