One of the things I had a big problem with when I was into bicycling a lot was the DAMNED CLOTHES...
I mean, really! You look at a hard core cyclist, and the tights & funny clothing they wear, and you realise that they HAVE A PURPOSE -
But can you see YOURSELF dressing like that?
Designed to be slick, to reduce wind resistance, also to wick sweat to the outside as fast as can be, and padded in the crotch so that the saddle doesn't beat up anything direly important to you...
It still seems like a clown suit somehow, like you're undressed in some strange way.
THEY HIDE NOTHING!
Another thing about cycling clothes is that THE MORE ATTENTION THEY ATTRACT, THE SAFER YOU ARE!!!
Truly -
You have no protection at all on a machine that hopefully weighs less than thirty pounds including the water bottles. The best defence is to have people in motor vehicles instantly STARE at you!
But I mean - DANG...
It took a long time for me to get used to wearing stuff like that, honest to pete
