Timing is good, verified in the dist. as suggested.

Didnt replace any other sensors.

..after driving the truck for 30-40 miles, the computer must have adjusted...

I did remove the distributor, but with a buddy verified timing: that it is at TDC of compression stroke / gauge on crank shows it a 5 deg BDC, and rotor is on plug 1....

Checked the fuel pressure regulator with a gauge, read 42 psi. Chiltons indicates that it should run at 13-17psi, so i replaced the regulator...it was only 23.00. Still 40 psi...so Im...
