Main difference in gooseneck and bumper hitch is pushing versus pulling the load (respectively).

I had the 4BBL version of that motor in a 4 door lead sled with a 3 speed slush box. At 100K miles, it easily pulled a ~2K# boat.

Car rusted away long before the motor was done.
