I simply wanna replace the pinion gear and ring gear, nothing else, theres no damage to anything else, no lost nut, and bearings and carrier/spider gears look great.


I just need tips on removing...

Hello everyone!

Got an axle question, never took one of these apart before. 1991 F350 Sterling 10.25 dually, I need to replace the ring and pinion, the pinion breaking apart being the issue.

The IDI forums are quiet cause i'm hogging all of them :D still got like 10 of them. All of witch are stored for winter except for one, but I do enjoy running my Buick as a winter DD than my IDI.

Pulled the cover off, metering valve isn't stuck or sticky, but fuel has a green tint...

Amazon did have the Motorcraft ones, but I bought out the last remaining 4 few months ago, haven't checked if they got more.

I do have a Wells brand one in my 6.9L F150, still working perfect...

'89 means first year of E4OD, explains the "limp mode"

Works fine once warmed up......

The E4OD needs a working tachometer to operate properly, vans do...

As for a warning buzzer, honestly I wouldn't bother.

A transmission will gradually get hotter and hotter if you work...

No exact MPG number as I haven't bothered calculating it in the last year or so, it's not that impressive honestly, I'd say mid-high teens. Keep in mind, does have a C6, 2.73 gears on 27" tall stock...
