I have 4.30 gears with 2wd, my truck with the SC and 4.30s is rated at 15600, I'm just a little over that with my trailer that scales loaded around 16K, I also have a 50 gal aux tank in the bed.

The only time I ever had my throttle pulsate was when I wasn't paying attention and hit the rev limiter pulling a big grade, makes for a strange feeling in the cab of the truck.

That makes it a quart every 2K, that's normal in Ford's eyes. One of my V10s used a quart every 2K from new and it ran just over 300K miles.
