so I'm wondering if someone shimmed the regulator...

so I'm wondering if someone shimmed the regulator to compensate for a bad pump in the past, and then forgot to remove it when it was replaced. In any case I'm replacing both the bowl and pump...

Shimming the FPR only raises the pressure needed for the fuel to return to the tank . Maybe his screen is plugged. Snimming the FPR does not raise FP to the injectors. It may blow the lid on the fuel...

The FPR only reports the fuel pressure as the fuel returns to the tank . THe reported ICP is only what is called for . The IPR is not responding as it should ( or expected ) . THe PCM is calling for...

The down hill most likely has nothing to do with fuel , it takes quite a while to empty the fuel bowl .A cracked pickup tube would be more likely or simply low oil level

With the engine clocked properly , the oil can leak from the lifters keeping the new install from bending the new ones . Its in the (proper ) manual

Its possible to get lucky

CAUTION: Failure...

40 % is what is called for based on Reported ICP...

40 % is what is called for based on Reported ICP . It may only be the small O ring on the end of the IPR when the oil is warm
