If your local dealer tell your that the part you are looking for for your older ford has been discontinued, get the part number and give these guys a call.

how are the shoes? Drum thickness? Sounds like that wheel cyl is pushing out too far normally caused by misadjusted brakes, worn shoes, worn drum.

I am gonna do the axle pivot bushings, and the radius arm bushings while I am at it. It is BAD. So bad that when I back into my parking sopt at work, guys come up and ask me what is wrong with it.

OK I will be going with a 9" then. I can get one from the wrecking yard for about 150 bucks. What are some things to look for on the 9" to tell if its good or not? I would hate to get one home...
