Personally I would repair the issue with the dual tank system. You won't be happy with the very limited range of the single rear tank.

Monroe Gas Magnum (yellow) are probably the best inexpensive shock you can get. I have them currently and am not displeased. We've had them on a few trucks. I prefer them to Rancho.

I knew Dorman had the partial kit with just the studs, but without the bolts. I didn't know that LMR had a complete set. They sure are proud of them though.

All that old alarm was doing was interrupting the starter. I seriously doubt it was affecting the ignition or spark.

There is another problem. Maybe it is the TFI module.
