What part of town did you pick that up in? Was it advertised? I bet after a vacuum and power wash, oil change and some fresh fuel, that buggy starts right up.

So then you plan to narrow the frame as well? You can always stuff the current wells with the right combination of wheel width and backspacing. I had a 57 f100 that was running 10" wheels out back...

Glad you got htis resolved, I was going to recommend you make sure the pick-up screen was not resting on/too close to the pan. That will cause you to not be able to pull up oil...

Seals/gaskets can be replaced in the vehicle, except for the front pump and shaft seal. I would venture to say that if you pulled the trans and took it to a shop, they could have it done in a day...
