As mentioned the IDM is only a monitor. It's purpose is to detect erratic ignition. You're getting erratic ignition, and the IDM is detecting it.

Yup, those hard lines have a nasty habit of cracking. Usually the line going to the recirculate/external vent select completely disintegrates. It's by the passenger side hood hinge/spring.
