You're not looking at the engine stamping I hope. The FE series blocks usally had a 352 embossed on the front of the motor (some had a reversed stamped 105), but didn't necessarily mean the motor...

On the fuel smell problem, I'd check the fuel pressure regulator. It's probably about time for it to go.

The electrical smell is probably something grounding out. Installed a radio or anything...
