Dumb Regen question..

On my way home my truck went into regen mode. I was low on fuel and on my way to gas station, and did not want it to continue, so I put the truck in neutral to make it stop. Immediately after putting truck back into drive it started again. I stopped put truck in park and it did not come back on. I went and filled up and hit the highway expecting the regen to start again. I drove awhile and nothing so I came home. Today on my way to work I had expected it to come on, but it did not it also did not start on the way home. I was wondering if there is anything I need to be concerned about? Next week this will all come to a end because I ordered a spartan and a DPF and DOC delete.

Not particularly that I am aware of. My truck was really inconsistent with regens right off the show room floor. Sometimes after shutting the engine off while in regen and restarting it, it will start right back up and sometimes regen won't continue for another 50+ miles. My thoughts is that the soot in the filter may shift in some form when parked, put in neutral, engine turned off, etc, so that it's not recognizing that the DPF is full and needs to be cleaned.

If there were "good and evil" in such an inanimate object as the F250...the regen would be EVIL! Mine would always, I mean always start similar to what you have described. I would get on the highway for a 30 mile run to the city and no regen there or back...pull in the neighborhood and #!#@$!

Now for the GOOD...SPARTAN!

nothing to worry about. You probably let it regen just enough that the sensors were ok with it.

Expect it regen at a closer interval this next time.

Canceling this regen process on occasion is fine but you should make an attempt to let it finish the process if you can.
