1964 ranchero wiring diagram

I have a 1964 ranchero with an alternator. I need the wiring diagram for
this application. I have one from Dearborn Classics, but it only shows the
diagram for the generator. The vehicle appears to have been equipped
with the alternator from the factory. Thanks in advance for any help you
guys can give me. Dan. :-headbang

see if you can find a wiring diagram for a 65. they are the same thing.
a very good source for falcon and ranchero info is www.tffn.net.

I live up in Everett Wa and the local lib. has a computer that is dedicated for auto repair info as well as a large selection of auto repair manuals with wiring diagrams you don't live that far from Seattle so check your local lib. to see if they have the info. if not let me know and I'll check here and if its here then I'll send them to you. BTW i own a shop man for 66 Econolines and it has the wiring diagrams for the vans witch should be very similar

the econoline and car wiring diagrams are 2 completely different animals.

of course it wont match perfectly but it should be close enough with the colors and conection points to figure out his harness that is what i was sugesting for him to do

but the 64 and 65 cars, ranchers, and station wagons use the same exact wiring. that is why i said use the car diagram. and the car manuals are a lot easier to find than econoline manuals are.

Thanks for your help guys. I found an ad for classic car wiring .com. I am going to contact them and see if they have what I need. I took the car off the jackstands 10/18/10 and test drove it 10/20/10. It doesn't want to idle so it was an exciting ride. I'm getting the carb rebuilt today, so hopefully that will fix the problem.

Thanks again, Dan.

Drove the ranchero to work today. What a handful! It is in serious need of an alignment!
No self centering out of turns and it pulls left and wanders. The engine runs good though. Nice power and nice lopey idle. Sounds real stout.

from firewall foward, the mustang is the same.
everything else is different.

check out WWW.tffn.net.
it is all about ford falcons, and ranchero's up to the body change in 66.

while it is true that the mustang was built off the 64 falcon platform, there are so many little differences, that it will drive you crazy trying to use mustang specs on a falcon.
as an example, the falcon engine bay is 1/2 inch narrower than the mustang. no big deal, rite?? well try putting a set of 1965 mustang 289 high performance manifolds on a 65 289 falcon.
the only way they will fit is if you take a big hammer to the spring towers. and then you will need to modify shift linkage if you have a column mount shifter.
