Adjusting the let out point of the clutch
Good afternoon gang! I just picked up a running donor 1966 F100 which has had a 302 placed in the rails where a I6 used to reside. After getting the throttle linkage kinks worked out, now I am moving to the clutch. The problem is the darn thing grabs the plate about 1" off the floor. Needless to say, the left-right foot coordination isn't quite what it used to be so I am in need of adjusting this out a little. It has been quite some time for me and clutch adjusting, so if someone has a quick how-to/which direction to go suggestion, I'm all ears.

Thats about where it should grab for a new clutch...adjusting for a higher pedal grab point...I dunno...

Taken from 65 Ford truck shop manual: adjust clutch pedal stop to allow for 6 5/8" to 6 7/8" total travel. Clutch pedal free travel is between 1 1/16" to 1 1/4". There should be 1/4" travel between the spherical nut and release lever, make the adj with the spring in place.

Many Thanks!

Bill is correct as usual; sorry failed to take into consideration the engine swap and there's no question I have had to 'mickey mouse' the clutch assembly adjustment. I found the 'Z' bar was not aligned with the clutch lever and pivot ball, set at a slight angle, so I use spacers under the bracket mounted on the frame. Also, since the swap some 35 yrs. ago, never used a spring to keep pressure on the clutch lever; further, have zero clearance between spherical nut and clutch lever; actually adjust where there's slight tention. Since there are a number of member who have gone with the I6 to 302 swap hopefully they will add comments on how they deal with the clutch adjustment. Again, thanks Bill for noting the error.
