1987/88 flange style hub conversion to "conventional"
I have a 1987 F150 SB with the flange type hubs....Can these hubs be change to a "conventional" locking hub...like on my '92 f150? The wheel bearings on the '87 are very close together and constantly wear out prematurly and/or get loose due to the the narrow spacing. My '92 does not have this problem as it has the conventional style hubs.
My question is, do the spindles need to be changed to a later model spindle or will a "conventional style" hub and Warn or MM locking hub slide right on? The bearing spacing is MUCH further apart on my '92. Any suggestion are greatly appreciated |
I have the flange hubs and the bearings never come loose, but anyways you would have to change from the knuckles out to convert to regular style hubs. I believe the axles are different also.
