'62 wiper motor
 

Hi all. My pride and joy is a '62 F100; $495 and 78,000 original miles. It's way ugly but it runs great.
However, it's got the problems one associates with a vehicle with more birthdays than miles.
I need a wiper motor. I've looked online and found some generic ones, but then I'd have to order them, then take out the old one (Buried under the dash and almost impossible to reach) and see if I can make it work.
I seem to be reading about some sort of aftermarket kit that mounts under the hood.
Where could I find such a thing - or am I just being a big baby who ought to just spend an afternoon standing on his head in the cab and have done with it?

There are two different wiper motors, two different wiper switches, one for single speed wipers, one for dual speed wipers.

If the switch has one position, it's a single speed wiper motor. If two positions, two speed.

Verify...first...whether it's a defective switch or motor before buying anything.

The switches fail far more often than the motors.
