What is your favorite soft drink?

OK guys and gals, the boards need something new to discuss. I know some are devout beer drinkers and some stay away from soda all together. This may bring back some favorite childhood soft drinks or bring to light regional names for soda such as pop, tonic, etc.

Were the hell is Dr. Pepper at? This is a biased, bogus, discriminating poll....:-X09

I voted Ginger Ale (Canada Dry), but, Coca-Cola holds a position of tied for first place.

Dr. Pepper is a verrrrrrrry close second place.

When I was a kid, there was a drink called "Pomac" (Po-Mack) that was (I think) marketed by Dr. Pepper. It was a white grape drink, and looked kinda/sorta like champagne.
It was delicious!!!

I've not seen Pomac in over 40 years.

Ultimate bottom line is. . . when I was a kid, I only got one soft drink per week.

Remember the soda boxes were you would put your nickel or dime in and slide the hanging bottle to the end and pull it up to retrieve it?

Cherry Coke Zero is my favorite.

Been off the booze for over 2 years now (dropped 35 lbs and bp down to where it should be)
Now I keep my shop fridge stocked with Fresca. It is a refreshing drink on a hot summer day.

Not real big on sodas but a cold Coke always seems to go down good!

I'm a huge Diet Pepsi. I totally forgot about Dr. Pepper and Root beer. We don't have them in the house so they totally slipped my mind.

When I was a kid in Maine, we always had Birch Beer which was red in color and tasted similar to Root Beer and we also has Sarsparilla (sp). We also had dark ginger ale too.

hanklin 09-12-2010 08:28 AM

gotta go with Fresca or diet dr pepper here

I drink lots of water or iced sweet tea. Barques red cream soda and homemade rootbeer are my favorite sodas though.

cjben 09-12-2010 10:27 AM

How about big red?(where you can find it!!) And you forgot the overactive kids and sleepless 3rd shift workers favorite, Mountain Dew!!:-partybud But if I don't need to be wired to stay awake all night,my favorite is Diet Pepsi.

Old93junk 09-12-2010 01:41 PM

What!........no Mt. Dew on the list?!

Speedjester 09-12-2010 01:45 PM

Monster Blue...

Barq's Root Beer is one of my favorites.
In a pinch I'll take a Coke or Pepsi, preferrably a diet cherry flavored one.

anyone remember "Pomac" from the sixties? I was about 10 years old when I tried it. didn't taste so hot but it looked like a bottle of beer and the kids couldn't resist acting like we had miller highlife.
