2004 Navigator Dash Lights

So what will cause all of the center stack lights on my Navigator to up and quit. The PRND2L lights are out, the head light switch light is out, the overhead AC/wing windows/rear door lights are out, door lock lights are out. Everything works fine, just can't see the buttons at night. Is there a light control module, are they fiber optic type lights with a central bulb?I have checked everyfuse that I looked like it might have something to do with dash lights. The instrument cluster and dome lights are perfectly fine, just the rest of the switch lights.TIA

Got a wiring diagram and the only thing I can see is that main power feed for the headlight and dimmer switches come from the underhood power box. I am guessing that either the headlight or dimmer switch has lost its ability to power the LEDs that light of the switch and button lights.
ANy ideas? Wonder how hard it is to crack open the switches.

The dimmer switch went bad, or someone turned it far enough to turn all the lamps off perhaps?

I'm having a similar issue with my "03 Nav. Hey Alloro - glad to see you on this thread. You'll remember I just got over the fuel pump and wiring issue. I'm having a hard time convincing myself the shop didn't mess something up as they were poking around trying to figure out why the fuel pump had no power. They want to sell me an entire new instrument panel. No thanks, I'll do a little checking first.

dohcfox - I'm hunting around for info on this. I'll come back if I find anything.

I have the same issue with my 2004 Licoln Navigator. The backlights are out. Anyone ever find the answer to this issue?
