How exactly do you figure out thebackspacing, and to see if the wheels are too wide?
I'm not for sure what size mine are but they seem awfully wide |
Either look up the specs or measure them.

and how do you measure them? Im not trying to be a smartass, i just didnt know if there was an easy way or not.

Width is measured inside the bead, so a 10" wide wheel will actually measure about 11" from outer edge to edge. Backspace is measured from the back edge to the hub surface on the back side.

i have 35x12.5 mt tires currently leveled truck and using stock rims with 1.5" wheel spacer. i defiantly want to remove the wheel spacer and plan on lifting the truck 4" in the future, i read the whole post and cant figure out if i need a -25mm offset or what. im not worried about how far it sticks out just as long as it doesn't rub on the springs

For a 2000 with 35x12.50, a -6mm offset will put it right even with the fender. -12mm will be about 1/4-3/8" outside, -25mm will stick out about 3/4". All will clear the springs/frame, the -6mm will be pretty close. If you want room for tire chains, go with at least -12mm, preferably -20 to -25mm.

thanks for the help, ive been trying to figure out this for weeks. now its gonna take me weeks to figure out which rims i like the most haha

Most aftermarket wheels are not hub-centric, so I wouldn't worry about it. There are a few, but they are mostly the real high-end forged wheels that are very costly.

Hey Guys.... I have a good question for everyone and hopefully someone can help.... lol... O.K. I have a 2001 f250 4wd... I just installed a Zone offroad leveling kit on the front and now my truck is sitting 1" to 1.5" higher in the front than the back???? I am puzzled honestly.... How do I need to fix this problem???? maybe block the rear to match the front??... O.K. The next question is tire size... I want to go with a 17x9 wheel, but I have no idea of the offset or backspacing??? I will say that I want to go with a 33" or 34" mud terrain tire.... However I do NOT want my wheels sticking out anymore than a 1" at best.... Can anyone help me with these problems??:-huh

You need a 4" block in the back, leveling kits are designed for F350s and your F250 has only a 2" block. For wheels, you'll want 0 to -12mm offset, depending on your tire width.

O.K. So you are saying that my f250 has a 2" block in the rear now and that I need to change it to a 4" block correct?? O.K. I GOT THAT PART THANKS!!! Now on the wheel size you are saying anything from a 0' offset to a 12mm offset?? what would you recommend as far as width for a 33" tire?? Like I said I want to go with a 17x9 wheel, but I want them to be almost flush with the outside of the fender or no more than a 1" outside the fender that way I can put fender flares on to cover them... you think a 295/70/17? or a 305 or 315???:-huh

0 to -12mm offset is what I meant. With a 33x12.50 tire, a -12 will put you just outside the fender. To get 1" out you'll need a -25mm wheel. If you go narrower like a 295 then it won't quite stick out as far.

Ok,,, Thanks for the info.... I have installed the 4" blocks in the rear, it worked great!! Now that I have the truck sitting level.... I think I am going to keep the factory wheels for now, so my next question is can I run a 295/75/16 on a 16x7 factory wheel without anything rubbing? Now that I have a 2" lift all the way around, I am thinking I should be ok... Just want to make sure!!
