vin number question

Is the vin number on the warenty plate?
The warenty number on the plate reads F10JK392483.
Right under that it says not for title or reg.
So is this the vin or not and if not where is the vin number located on my 63?
It is titled with that number so are we all wrong?

F10 = F100 2wd
J = 6 cyln 223 CID 1 BC Carb
K = Assembled in Kansas City, MO
392483 = Consecutive Unit Number

Those with more knowledge will have to provide the rest of the info for you.

The VIN is on the Warranty Plate, it is also what every vehicle since 1949 is registered by...so it will be on your title.

Not for title or registration: People swapped damaged left doors with used doors, 99.9% of the time, they didn't install the original Warranty Plate on the replaced door.

When this occured the VIN's would no longer match. While this is not a common occurence, it's not uncommon either.

On some, the Warranty Plate is located on the inside of the glove box door. The door could be replaced.

Thieves removed Warranty Plates by drilling out the rivets, then substituted another Warranty Plate for a vehicle they had title to.

State DMV's, law enforcement always verified the VIN by the hidden VIN.

On these trucks, it's usually stamped on the top of the right (passenger) side frame rail, in front of, or partially under the cab.
