New 2011 F250 6.2 owner
I posted this on another diesel forum that I frequently visit, but since I'm here alot, I wanted to do so here also.
Well, I'm the owner of a new 2011 F-250 CC, SB, FX4, 3.73 with the 6.2 gas engine. I've had it for almost a week now and it has 230 miles on the odometer. As a result I'm no longer the owner of my 6.4. I'm very impressed with this truck, and it should do real well for my usage. I do lot's of in town driving and tow my enclosed trailer on average twice a month. I have the lariat package including the sunroof. This is the first vehicle I've ever owned with a sunroof and I like it. As I get more driving time and miles, I'll follow up with an update.http://www.thedieselstop.com/forums/...s/thumbsup.gif Here are some pics. http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/q...0/DSC00344.jpg Another one http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/q...0/DSC00343.jpg and one more http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/q...0/DSC00337.jpg |

p.s. thats is one sweet new truck..i like it btw. Thanks. That's a good question. Well there are several reasons I chose to give up the 6.4 and go to the 6.2 gas. They are as follows: Maintenance costs - cheaper with the 6.2 Fuel - gasoline is cheaper and the mileage should be the same or better than my stock 6.4 Use - I dont tow much, 80-85% of my miles are empty non-towing miles I drive alot in town with plenty of short trips. long term reliablity - I have my doubts about the newer diesels because of their complexity I had a V10 in my 03 Excursion and I loved the engine. Didnt get the best fuel mileage, but it was simple, very reliable, and a breeze of work on. So I decided to go back that route again with the 6.2. It reminds me so much of my old V10 and I have complete piece of mind when driving it. When warranty is long gone I'm able to do alot of the work on the truck, but that would have been difficult with the 6.4 or the 6.7. Nothing wrong with the 6.4 or 6.7 but the 6.2 is the best way to go for me. Until now I've had nothing but diesels in my super duty's (7.3 & 6.4) but with the all of the complexities of new diesels, I feel strongly that the gasoline engine in the better way to go for me. |
Just got mine today....crew cab dually. Traded in my oil leaker for a gasser. Very pleased so far. Drives and handles well; like the new rear fenders on the dually.

Welcome to the world of the 6.2! Great looking truck :-X22

Hi Noble1 post some pics when you have a chance, have not seen many 6.2L duallys |
congrats on the trucks my friends... I got my 6.2 2 weeks ago and am nothing but thrilled with it. My pictures are on "whos going to order a 6.2L" - pg 9.
I like that silver that FordMDB has as well as Front Runners. Sharp! :-X06 |
Thanks Ford 62, I picked silver for the ease to keep clean. It was between silver, blue and red ... then i went the sensible route... :-X21

I like that silver that FordMDB has as well as Front Runners. Sharp! :-X06 I got silver for the exact reason that FordMDB did. My last truck was black and it was a task to keep clean. I had a silver toyota tacoma a while back and I learned then the silver is one of the easiest colors to keep clean. I call it the lazy man's (me) color. I have friends who love washing cars, not me, I wash'em when I have too. By the way, to prove my point, when I took the pictures that I have posted, I had already been through 3 rainstorms over the last 3 days. I'm not talking about sprinkles, I mean rain. The roads were soaked. I havent washed it either. |
Congrats,Ive had mine for 2 weeks(little over 1500 miles on it now) and cant say enough about it,although I went black w/metel flake cause i didnt want to wait till they found me a silver/gray F250 Iam happy with the black.

I ordered mine
I just ordered my new 2011 F250 SD 4x4 CC,LB, Lariat. I am driving a 2008 6.4 same config other than being a F350.Love my 6.4 for hauling my 5ver. Lease was up so I decided to go back to a gasser. I had great luck with the V10 many years ago. Hope to get some better mileage on this one.(?) Should be in 6=7 weeks.:-D
