52 F-1 Gasser Lives!

After 2 years of slow work we had a firing up party on Sunday 8/22. She didn't fire up at first as was not only the ignition coil was bad but also the Pertronix ignition module was also bad even though it was brand new! Lastly the timing was out 180 degrees, after that it roared to life and I mean literally roared with open fenderwell headers. I know this truck is a bit on the darkside with an SBC, THM 350, and nine inch Ford diffy out back, but when you get free parts one doesn't argue about it. I now need to bolt on the frontend sheetmetal and put the bed on and she's ready to hit the street. I'll try to post some pictures once my wife gets them downloaded. It's a glorious feeling when all your hard work finally comes alive!

Oh yea.....nothing like lighting her off for the first time!!!

When I lit my big Caddy engine off for the first time I had just the exhaust manifolds and approx 8" of pipe....It knocked pictures off the wall in the house....LOL

I can't wait to see the pics

I feel ya, I just fired mine up for the first time on Monday. I couldnt stop smiling, I even called the wife and made her listen to me start it up. Needless to say she wasn't as excited as me though...lol

LOL....

somehow the lovely roar of an uncapped engine just doesn't transfer well over the phone. The person on the other end just hears what sounds like very loud static.......or so my friends told me
