Instrument cluster swap
 

I just picked up an instrument cluster out of a 95' bronco. The only difference between it and the one that is currently installed in my truck is that is has a tach (and hopefully the water temp traces aren't broken like my current one). Now i've heard a lot about this swap but can't remember anything special that I had to do besides just switch the two clusters. I'm assuming that it's a drop in option since they are the same year. Besides switching the PSOM over to the new cluster, is there anything special that I have to do? I believe that the harness going to the cluster should be wired for the tach signal. Thanks in advance!

I did the same thing on my 94 F150, and my dad's 95 F150. It works, and had no issues swapping.

just dont lean them forward it ruins the gauges

I just did this swap with no problems. (same year cluster) At the same time I installed an oil pressure sending unit instead of the oil pressure switch and jumpered the resistor on the back trace for the oil pressure gauge. This gives me a legitimate oil pressure indication

Thanks guys. I also plan on jumping out the resistor on the oil pressure trace. I have the sending unit and all the other parts to get the "true" oil pressure reading. The only thing that i'm lacking is an adapter to hook up the sending unit since it won't fit where the oil pressure switch will.

I ended up getting 1 m-f 45 degree brass fitting along with 3 straight m-f brass fittings to bring the connection out far enough and then had the 45 degree pointing forward so the sending unit cleared the oil filter. I used teflon tape on all the fitting threads. Worked like a dream! I have seen other one piece adaptors around but they wanted $20-$30 for them. With the amount of threads in the above method it also let you keep tightening until you you got the exact angle for the sending unit to point.
