Engine to Transmission plate
 
Hi, I am working on a Mazda b2300 with a 2.3l four cylinder and an automatic transmission. I am installing a new engine and have forgotten which way that thin plate between the engine and transmission goes. Could someone please help me out with this. There is a groove in the plate so I assume that it does matter. There is also ford and a part number stamped on one side. Which way does this go?

I believe it's asymmetric, so it should only fit one way. Here's a pic of the back of a 2.3 block, notice the bottom bolt on the right sits higher than the bottom bolt on the left. The block plate should be the same way:
