Bud's Open House, August 21

Who's going from our SoCal FTE bunch?

It sounds like it's VERY-well organized, and is going to be the SoCal diesel shindig of the year!

Gail and I will be there...had a good time at last year's bash.

bpounds 08-14-2010 11:58 AM

I am planning to go.

SteveBricks 08-14-2010 12:02 PM

It figures to be quite a crowd there...getting there early is a good idea. There will probably be a good number of "flatbillers" there as the day goes on.

bpounds 08-14-2010 12:09 PM

Okay, so I don't get out much anymore. I had to google flatbiller.

Flatbiller of the Day

Oh yeah, looking forward to those guys. :-X13

I had to do the same thing, Bill.

Reliable sources say Gene is bringing Stoked Lightning tomorrow.

Anybody know if parking is going to be a problem in Bud's "neighborhood" on a Saturday?

There isn't an abundance of parking, that's for sure. Best to arrive early.

I'm thinking 9-ish myself.

For those who missed this event, you sure missed one!

A band, clowns, magicians, snow cones, sodas everywhere, burgers, hot dogs, desserts, lotsa' displays, new Ford truck test drives, a dyno, hats, T-shirts, and a real-nice "family-oriented" crowd.

Any photos yet posted?

You can say that again.

There was a cough...d-max that put down 560 - something on the dyno after you left. Gene put the little Red truck up on the rollers at the end of the day and did a little over 450...bent pushrods and all. Tried to blow 'er up, but it wouldn't pop.

I think we can expect to see good things from that truck on the NHRDA division 2 circuit next year though.

Good to see you fellas out there today!

bpounds 08-22-2010 10:24 AM

T'was nice to see you guys as well. I took just a few photos.

Was that on his last pull when he blew the cap off of the degas bottle? :-X13

SpringerPop 08-22-2010 11:52 AM

Nice shot of Don's "Chick Magnet", Bradley, too.

Don't know, but probably. I think it was his last run. Did you notice his CCV "reroute". That motor had a lot of blowby.

How many dyno runs did they end up selling? I think they were at 4 completed when I left.

SteveBricks 08-22-2010 02:25 PM

It dumps right under the door, too. I'd imagine it's pretty noticeable at stop lights.

There were 13 or 14 total. I ended up putting mine on after all...hadn't done it since I took the other "stuff" off.

Gene's run was a freebie, and he only did the one pull.
