Fuel tank capacity question

Hello all, I have a 2011 F250 (6.7). I am perplexed by the fuel tank capacity. I recently had a low fuel light with the trip computer telling md 44 miles to empty. When I filled up the tank only took 21 gallons. I thought my F250 had a 30 gallon tank. Am I missing something here? It doesn't ad up. Thanks in advance for the input.

I believe you may have a 26 gallon tank. I assume the additional room in the normal gas tank area (where the 30 gallon tank used to be) is for the DEF tank but I have not seen the underside directly.

From the Ford 2011 Super Duty 4/01/10 order guide:

"Major Product Changes" under "packages":

- Pickup Fuel Tanks vary by Engine and Wheelbase
  • All 6.2L Gas gest 35 gallon Mid
  • 6.7L Diesel on 137", 142", and 156" wheelbases get 26 gallon Mid
  • 6.7L Diesel on 158" and 172" wheelbases get 37.5 gallon Mid

If you have a short bed your tank is 26 gallons. Long bed (8') tank is 37.5 gallons.
