how do you remove factory radio?!?!?!
I dont understand how it comes out theres just four pin holes on each side of it, its just the facory am/fm radio no tape player, I have a cd player made by kenwood here that my uncle and I pulled out of a chevy, I'm probably going to have to buy the harness connector for wiring if I cant figure out whats what for the ford wires but first how do I get the darn thing out of my dash?
|
there is a special tool you can buy its like 6 bucks at walmart in the stereo section
|
I use 4 roofing nails, a little tug, and its out.
Does the raido still work? I will buy it off of you if the price is fair. I cant stand the stock cassete one as it has no "tune" function. Only search. I live in a semi rural area and you cant search for stations that will come in if you lock them in their hometown. Heck, I will give you my cassete radio if you just want to trade. |
no thanks on trading, this kenwood radio I have here is nice, please explain how you used roofing nails to pull it out?

thanks!! so basically those go in and push back on some tabs and then you can pull it out
|
yeah basically thats what it does.
I'm pretty sure you can use other things but that is the proper tool. |
okay I think I'll try it with some allen wrenches
|
So glad my truck's old enough to where the radio is actually bolted down to the dash! Even my aftermarket unit is bolted down, in the exact same fashion as the factory one too - well I did rivet the factory brackets to the aftermarket cradle:D
|
if it doesnt want to come out dont pull it
because it will break... :/ |
