yes, looking for options for mirrors that mount on the door vs on the hinge pin or peep mirrors. I was thinking something the oval mirrors off an older camaro or similar (but these don't work).

Would the "Western Style" (I forget the correct nomenclature) like Ross has on his truck be something you would be interested in?

I used to have a picture but don't any more. Maybe he will post one.

"West Coast Mirrors"

ibuzzard 07-30-2010 02:26 PM

The West Coast mirrors I believe, usually require some drilling into your doors, something many don't like to do.The "junior west coast" type, are a little smaller, and,I think, are more appropriately scaled for our older trucks, but also require some drilling, though some do clamp on.I need larger mirrors,as I have a good-sized camper shell. Not wanting to drill,I found a vintage NOS set of rectangular 5x8 " aftermarket mirror heads(Yankee) on Ebay that are an almost perfect match for the Ford Colonial White paint on my truck. They look stock. There are usually nice sets for sale there, check it out.

I think these are the stock mirrors. Just a bracket on the front of the door. They stick out pretty far. They also shake, rattle and roll, in tune with the flattie...slim

I think these "swan neck"mirrors from No Limit would look bitchin on your truck. With you having your wing windows to contend with it might hamper your visibilty.

I made some using the mirrors off my 95 grand am I scrapped although the mounting is different between are trucks but I think you could do something similar by using a backer plate on the inside of your door.
