Rear end conversion 1953 F-100

What would be the ideal later model rearend assembly to replace the original in my 1953 Ford F-100 and will fit within the perameters of the original rearend? I plan to use close to the original tire size.

Welcome to FTE! You will find plenty of people willing to help. If you would move your request up a couple of boards to " 1948 to 60 F1 & F100" there has been a number of discussions on this very topic. And I'm sure you will get many answers.

67-72 ford 1/2 ton truck 9 inchers and some dana's in the mix too , are a direct bolt in , but if you intend to use original style shock mounts you'll have to find a set from a 53 - 55 f250 as the diffs in them have 3 inch axle tubes like the 9 inchers and newer danas . our oe dana 44 is what a 2 or 2.5 inch tube so the shock mounts wont fit the newer ones . also if you aren't afraid of a little work late explorer 8.8's fit too . as mentioned ya wander over to the 48-60 forum where most of us hide at you will find a wealth of info in the stickies up top , and in searching the past threads ........................:-X25
