1997 F250, will not start
Recently while making a short trip the above mentioned truck started missing. When I depressed the accelerator nothing happened, no power.
Holding down the accelerator the truck gained power and ran for 14 km w/no recurrence of the afore mention loss of power, however, shortly after it lost Power again, and finally quit and would not start. I do believe it is something to do with the fuel pump, as when the water drain valve is open and I turn on the key there is no pressure and no fuel comes out of the fuel filter container. I am not sure where the fuel pump is located - the vehicle has 2 tanks and a switch. All fuses were checked and no problems found. |
Sometimes the bowl won't drain till the cap is loosened. Have you changed the fuel filter and cleaned the screen in the bowl ( just down from top on drivers side in the bowl)? Fuel pump is below and behind the fuel filter canister. Check the fuel pressure with a tire gauge on the schrader valve.
Are there any codes? CEL come on? Recent oil change? HPOP resevoir full? Also, welcome to fte. There's some really good help on here, I do what I can but there are a lot better. |
When trying to start does the tac move and do you have smoke coming out of the tailpipe
