2000 F-150 5.4 Coolant Leak at Water Crossover

Hello.. I've got a 2000 f-150 5.4 L with 260,000 miles. It is leaking coolant at the water crossover. Cant get bolt out to take crossover off the intake. Think its actually isntalled on the manifold before manilfold goes into engine. Intake manifold has to be replaced. Anyone done this? I've done just about everything so I'm pretty confident I can do it. Already ordered the parts (upper intake with gaskets), and 16 new o-rings for the fuel injectors. Before I tear my truck to pieces I wanted to get some input. Is this a hard job? Do you guys recommend doing the lower intake as well? Thanks

i had the same thing. yes, the crossover is bolted to the bottom. mine had the manifold edges break around the hole and let the o-ring gasket fail. i have a few photos in a past post i will put up. I think i took it off in 3-4 hours one saturday.. did some repairs and other work.. then put it back together on sunday in 3-4 hours..

make sure you double check the tubes in the valley below the manifold--- might want to change out just for the H of it.

Thanks.. I actually already saw your pic's.. Great job doing that. It inspired me to do it myself. Will check the tubes.
