Who wants NOS Ford 73-79 truck mirrors for cheap? D4TZ17696A
 

I found these on ebay back in October and bought 4 of them, 2 for me and 2 for my uncle. In the description is says they weigh 17lbs so shipping is high. I emailed him and I think I paid like $15 shipping for all 4 mirrors instead of $21 each.
I know they werent options for all years 73-79 but they fit the contour of the door for all years. I believe they were option for my 77 and I have to say they are AWESOME. They come with all hardware, gaskets, nutserts etc. And come with the original Ford drawings to show where and now to mount them. I'm sure numberdummy can chime in and let us know what trucks they are made to go on. They do look different than the 78/79 type 9 mirror but they'll fit just fine. They are about half price of original MSRP and are cheaper than most Chinese mirrors. I hate to be reponsible for depleting a NOS supply but I have mine and I'm sure others from this site will appriciate them. The only reason they arent already gone is because the seller doesn't know what they fit.
Also numberdummy, what is the difference between this mirror and a D6TZ17696A?

See my post in the other mirror thread. Maybe you could provide the link...I haven't a clue how to do it...and I don't want to know, regardless. I have enough to do as it is.

I listed the difference in the shape of the arms, and...I just edited in the specs.

While these mirrors may not have been optional for all years, what you have to realize is...the dealers would install any ol' mirror they had in stock.

When customers selected mirrors they wanted, most were unaware of the differences, so...if the dealer had something similar, onto the truck they would go.

Which means, you may find D4TZ mirrors on a 1979, and D9TZ mirrors on a 1973.

If you want me to list the sources that have D4TZ17696A & D6TZ17696A...I'd rather do it in the other thread.

Ah. I was just wondering the difference in the 2 part numbers. So just the shape of the arms. Good enough for me. I'm not too concerned with who still has what mirrors, there should be plenty of D4s here, but someone else might want a D6, dunno. Thanks. And hopefully this helps someone out, I thought it was a pretty good find.

Do these hit over or under the dimple rail in the door panel? I have the trim piece in the dimple that I have to miss. Thanks.

They are made specifically to go on a 73-79 truck so I'm sure it will be fine. Here is a pic of one of the mirrors that I got from this auction.

I'm sure they are a reputable company, they are brand new ford mirrors, complete with even the mounting instructions and inserts, gaskets, everything you need, they were so prompt, packaged professionaly, etc. I sure hope you will be getting yours soon, they said they had over 10 availiable on the ad and when I ordered mine it said they had sold 11 of them. good luck

Yeah, you'll get them. And as far as the number he has, here's how you figure that out. Pull up the auction, then click on watch this item. Then click on my ebay. Then scroll down to your watched items were the mirros are listed and it will tell you right there.

Was beginning to wonder because I havent heard ANYTHING from them, I usually get a "Thank You for purchasing our item"........I got nothing. So I emailed them yesterday, got a response in a couple of hours with a tracking number. It was shipped the day I paid for them and will be here today.
