CT machine shops

Since were all from Connecticut here. Anyone know of any good machine shops in the tolland county area? I figure this is cheaper to rebuild my 300/4.9 then order and rebuilt one from somewhere.

i dont know where tolland is, but i use Kiwi Engineering in old saybrook. he has done many different types of jobs for me, his pricing is fair and the work is the best i have seen. he will also NEVER bullspit you, wich is really nice. he has done snowmobile, motorcycle, quad, american V8, and custom work for me without any issues to date.

That only about just under and hour away from me. I wouldn't mind the drive to get good service. I want to get this done the right way the first time.

HOW IS THE TRUCK COMING?! post up some pics in the BS thread!

Its gone no where sadly since the intro thread. I'll be starting some serious work soon. I did plug a battery in it, messed around with it. Figured out my radio antenna ground isn't attached to the hood, and that i might need a new turn signal switch. Thanks for asking.

Side thought. I should pick up a engine hoist and get the engine out and tear it down.

I go to http://www.MFG.com when im looking for a machine shop to do work for me, sometimes noone will do what i need done, but sometimes they do. and the deals i get are good, I have never gotten anything done the tolland county area, but its worth a shot.

We send our stuff from the CarQuest parts store in Willi to:
J & R Auto Machining
63 School St.
Putnam, CT.
860-928-1239
It's right across the street from the CarQuest in Putnam.
No complaints from our commercial customers in the 2 1/2 years I've worked there.

thanks guys! i'll check these out too.

If you call J & R ask for Johnny and tell him CarQuest in Willimantic sent you.

I'm more of a lurker here, the last time I actually logged on was 5/07!
The boys at TurboFord keep me pretty busy so I don't have much time to visit other sites.

Today I was looking for info on swapping a manual tranny into my 1977 F-350 460/C-6 Ranger Camper Special.
I have two 1973 F-250 Custom Camper Special parts trucks but they are both 360-416 FE/T-18 creepers. I'm not sure what I can use other than the pedals.
I found some threads searching and printed them, now I need to read through and see if this is swap is going to be cost effective.

Paul
