40 in tires with what rear end ratio? If you have 3.73s in there you are not going to be a speed demon. You are going to have put some $$$ in you want those 40in tires to bark. I am sure other guys will chime in on what to do but first change those gears if they are still stock and the front also. Roy.

Put 40's on that dmax and see how it runs. I would throw some gears in that thing with some custom tuning and see what you think

thanks

im sure there are still stock i dont want to go to hi on gears i put a lot of of miles on it i race boats all over it seems like its defueling at like 2800rpm and it looses power. it just dont pull like the chevy work truck and my boat weights 800pounds and the work trailer is about 6000pounds.. i the dont want to burn the tires just when i stick the gas i want black smoke and me to be gone when the smoke clears .. the 7.3 should be stronger then the 6.6 right i love my ford i love to show it off bc i just put the 2008 f450 front end and i love the back smoke

shoot Clay at sales@riffraffdiesel.com an email, then give him your CC info... and you should be good to go... he has injectors and custom chips that will suit your needs!!

If you want to mow down a duramax you need to get rid of those tires and lift and get bigger injectors and turbo along with custom tuning. Follow the link Layson posted.

You also have to remember the dmax is starting out with about 75-100hp more in stock form than your PSD.

Biggest thing would be to regear for the big tires. Then look for a custom burned chip, depends where you are and what you like when you chose who you want. If that's not enough, injectors and turbo will get you more, then retune for them.

Do you have gauges? any work done on the tranny? Is it an auto or 6 spd? With an auto and those big tires you definitely need a shift kit or different VB, otherwise you'll be putting in a new tranny.

We can spend your money for you and make your truck go fast, there's enough guys here with 400+ hp(hoping I'm there, we'll see at RRE), some with 500+. Most everything has been tried before and they know what works and what doesn't.

How much you willing to spend?
