How do you remove glove box door???
 

The latch handle assembly broke on my 1999 f-150 glove box door, and it won't latch, so the light stays on causing me to have to disconnect the battery to avoid running it down. any tips on removing the glove box door so I can install the new handle assembly, it looks like you have to tear the whole inside apart, and still not sure how you get the right hardware off. any help appreciated. thanks.

Not sure on total removal but a way to make it open about 3 times the normal gap is to pull it past a plastic catch on the side. Can't remember which side now but it is all plastic and simply bends a bit to get pass the catch and it will drop way open.

Look on the sides of the black plastic tray or container and you will see one tab on either one or both sides of the box that keeps it from hanging way down. Just push in on the side(s) of the tray and you will have enough clearance to drop the door another few inches.

once you get that far, just bring it all the way down and it lifts up on the hinge side.

Once I dropped the door all the way open, it was a piece of cake. And, also, the part number was for the right color too, mine's denim blue. Now if I can just get up the nerve to tackle the O2s, what a pain!!! Thanks again.

well the rears are easy. the fronts are kinda tricky. get a small propane torch. wait until the engine cools cools COMPLETLEY down. you will be touching the back of the head. take off the outer fender trim pieces and the inner fender wall thing. use the torch to heat the bung and it will come out rather easily. you might also need the torch to do the rears.

And when you install the new ones make sure you use a little anti-sieze on the threads. You might have to change them again someday.
