I just bought it and don't know if/how it's lowered. No blocks present between the springs and the axle. 20" rims. It definitely stands out among all the lifted 4x4s around these parts.

Looks nice, very tasteful, except the headlights... A set of 05+ lights would look sweet on it! :-X06

Headlights = No thanks
+ Taillights = No thanks
I just bought it as is. Changes in the planning. I like the stance though & the SC don't hurt.

The screen on my laptop is small, but are you missing a few lug nuts?

No blocks between the axle and the springs, missing lug nuts? I wonder how the previous owner lowered the front end?

I hope you got a good deal on that ride, you may have purchased yourself a money pit.

TennesseeMustangPerf 05-11-2010 10:44 AM

Yeah, I noticed his nuts too.

Ummm, that could have been worded better.

Easiest way to lower the back would be to remove the blocks.
Is it a 4x2 or a 4x4 truck?

To me, lowered trucks seem more practical than most lifted trucks (easier to put a load in/out of the bed, can get in more car parks etc.).

I like the stance of your truck undrtw. My truck is a 01 F250 Crew Cab 2wd. Have a set of 22x9.5 ordered with a 5.93 BS and a set of 305/45/22 to go with them. The back needs about 4 inches to come down to be level with the front. It does have a block between the spring and the axle from memory. Truck is at a body shop having some paint work done so I don't know how large the block is. Any body know how much it will drop pulling the block?

bpounds 05-11-2010 02:41 PM

The F250 block is about 2.5" I believe. But I'm not so sure you can just remove that block and go. They have various tapers to adjust driveline/diff angles. I'm thinking you are going to need some kind of tapered shim. Just a guess on my part.

BigF350 05-11-2010 02:41 PM

On a 250 with the stock block it will drop it 2" or so.

On edit: Got beaten :)
Bill is right it may affect your driveline angle and cause vibration on accel with an excessive U-Joint angle if its a 2 piece shaft (being a crew cab it will be a 2 piece)
If your carrier bearing has shims, you can remove them to fix.

Lets keep it clean here Fellas :-X15

Just throwing it out there about the block. DJM makes a shackle that is cheap. Just didn't know how everybody else was doing them.

TennesseeMustangPerf 05-11-2010 03:21 PM

Lol, no I meant that I noticed some of his nuts were missing in the two pics too.

Unfortunately for you, most of us have SD's because we need the capabilities of an SD. And lowering or putting load limiting wheels and tires is generally not compatible with that need.

And due to your initial request not to bash, that's all I'll say about that! :-X22

MANMAN 05-11-2010 07:42 PM

I understand everybody's point that's why I said the "no bashing", to each there own and blah blah, but I could make the same argument about people lifting there trucks up (which I have done) and so on. Just looking for info. I don't pull horses or work construction, the heaviest thing I pull is a Jeep crawler/trail rig. Thanks for eveybody's responses and if any one else has any more insight on my questioning or links to they would greatly be appreciated.

Not to throw it off topic but, the wheel locks make it look that way. Last I checked, all my nuts are present!

It's an f350, not sure about shims, shackles or the front. It was a fair price. The Magna Charger, Wheels, & Sound system cost the previous owner close to what I paid for the truck. It runs like a bat out of hell with no mechanical issues... yet.

Haters be patient. I'm looking at lifting it after I unload my Jeep and kill these tires.
