Wood Bed Replacement ? ~ 1946 Ford PU

I posted this elsewhere on FTE and to my surprise had no replies. Hoping to get some help locally.......

I have a '46 Ford 1/2 Ton PU that needs the wood bed replaced. The metal bottom is rusted through in the front corners as is the wood. I plan on replacing it with new wood only in the winter. My questions are:

1. Can I replace the wood without taking the bed completely off the <NOBR style="FONT-FAMILY: inherit; COLOR: darkgreen; FONT-SIZE: 100%; FONT-WEIGHT: normal" id=itxt_nobr_1_0>truckhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/2_bing.gif</NOBR>?
2. Regarding the top metal ~ I noticed the metal bottom is attached to the front and 2 sides of the bed with a 3/4 inch angle bend. I assume the metal must be cut at the 90 degree corner as it cannot be removed without damaging the bed sides?
3. If anyone has directions, or can steer me to a PDF for installing a new wood bed kit on my <NOBR style="FONT-FAMILY: inherit; COLOR: darkgreen; FONT-SIZE: 100%; FONT-WEIGHT: normal" id=itxt_nobr_3_0>Fordhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/2_bing.gif</NOBR> I'd certainly appreciate it. Thanks!
