78 F250 Lift Question

I've been lookin at lifts over the past few days and I think I've came to a conclusion. Skyjacker is outta the question, too expensive and I personally think their stuff isn't worth what you pay. I looked at superlift and their kit is almost twice as much as rough country. However, I do like superlifts drag link over rough countrys steering block.

So I think I'm going to go with the rough country 4 inch kit with blocks and maybe do a shackle flip down the road, I wanna use the truck for some towing and have heard bad things of towing with a shackle flip. I want to also order superlifts drag link and pitch the block that comes with the rough country kit. Heres the link to the parts:

Rough Country Suspension Systems

Anyone have any suggestions before I order? Thanks.

you'd be better off piecing together you own lift. buy what you can at a time and leave it how it is till you have all the parts. you will not like blocks or a shackle flip for towing, go with real springs all the way around. check out broncograveyard.com. they have decent prices on pairs of springs

My friend is a distributer for NTW and can get the rough country spring kit for 645. Thats 4 springs 4 shocks u bolts and the block. Thats not a bad deal really. Super lift wants 205 per spring. So I figured I'd be further ahead to buy the rough country kit for the springs and shocks. And the link from super lift (the only place I've found it sold separte). I've heard of using super duty springs but I'm kinda skeptical on the whole thing, thinkin the RC (springs) and SL would be the way to go.

rough country rides like crap, and that is why they are cheaper. an f250 will never ride like a cadillac, but their springs leave a lot to be desired. they super duty springs are not a bolt on item, you will have to fab a rear hanger and move the mount. 75f350(ed) uses s/d springs, i suggest you pm him and have a talk before you order anything

ed also runs a shackle flip and tows with it, with no complaints what so ever...

I say shackle flip the rear, shackle reversal on the front. Both should net you about 4" of lift...
As i understand it. I could be wrong on the reversal though, if so, your still money ahead with a better ride get the front springs and your good to go.

I use SD front springs and 64 inch Chevy rears and a shackle flip. The ride is exceptional, articulation is fair, and the total cost was less than any kit.
Unfortunately kits are limited and there are not too many options.

As far as towing with a shackle flip, I don't see where capacity is limited. I tow my orange truck with my red one without issue.
Many large trucks use this style shackle configuration. Hino, UD, Isuzu and others use this type of design.

Steering is another story. I would not invest much time or effort into stock style steering. Push pull steering is worthless.

A deluxe order of truf.

Ive got a Rough Country 4" suspension lift on my 79 F250. The ride is pretty rough but Im interested in selling them if you'd like to give them a shot.

Otherwise, do what these guys have suggested...
4" SD springs and a shackle flip from Dan at Ruffstuff. You'll have $450 your lift kit + shocks.
