2001 Lightning- No power under boost?
Hello,
I have a 2001 Ford Lightning with 80K miles on it. All stock motor with exception of exhaust. On the way to work today I accelerated on a freeway on ramp to get infront of a semi and when the supercharger went into boost from vacuum I experienced a great loss of power and a shudder. Motor runs fine as long the supercharger is in vacuum, but once you start to lay into the throttle and the supercharger kicks in I lose power and it almost feels as if I have hit rev limiter as far as the shudder and loss of power, but thre RPMs are nowhere near redline. Any ideas? Thanks! |

it maybe bad injectors and your not getting enough fuel, or even a clogged fuel filter... check the small stuff before the big...it could even be an air filter...also see if any codes are being thrown

Unplug the boost actuator on the right side of the blower case and see if that solves your problem. If it does, just leave it unplugged.
If that doesn't do it, check to see if your MAF is still plugged in. |
Im having the same problem. Just had the heads replaced and the mechanic can not find any vacuum leaks. There was a code that came up, when the check engine light came on, for excessive fuel and he fixed that but no change in the way it performs. Also, it sounds like there is air blowing through the vents but there isn't. As of right now, there is no engine codes coming up. Did you find out what was causing your problems?
