Ive got a 98 F250 ld s/c xlt 4x4 I bought it used about 8 months ago for 12,995, it has the 5.4L with 104,000 on it now. How many miles can expect to get from this motor. I tow every once in a while but take it relatively easy on the truck the rest of the time. I'd like to hear if how many miles some of the enthusiasts have gotten out of their motors.

I had a 97 F150 4x4 and it had 138,000 on it and still running strong, used no oil and jumped up and went when asked..it died when a mitsubishi jumped out from a parking lot and tried to drive under it from the side, rear wheels went up and over the hood of the car and the whole truck went over on its side. I loved that truck.

Hope this helped.

I would say the old line of "Drive it like you stole it." applies. I don't think you need to baby the motor. The 4.6 in my Crown Vic is still strong at a 180,000 and my 5.4 in my 98 F250LD is driven hard on a regular bases. (Last clocked at a 108 mph via GPS and there was more left) I have nearly 80K on it. I doubt I will drive it any different at 150K
